This Conservatory is founded to preserve freedom of inscription upon Bitcoin. The timechain belongs to all, friend and foe alike, and shall not be subject to censorship.
Its purpose is to discover and refine methods of storing —art, images, instructions, and related forms—by witness, OP_RETURN, Annex, or tap-leaf. Such use is monetary, conducted with fees, and thus lawful to the chain.
Objections that this burdens the monetary role are acknowledged; yet we hold that such practice strengthens the network by testing its limits, advancing knowledge, and engaging its community.
Thus we resolve to uphold Bitcoin as a permanent record for art, culture, and data, inseparable from its freedom.

Use
By paying fees for blockspace, storing arbitrary data is a legitimate and monetary act within Bitcoin’s design.
Strength
Such practice tests limits, deepens technical understanding, and strengthens the network through open participation.
